Sorry to hear your Dock is kinda broken. I would recommend against messing with system files as it is very easy to wind up in a very bad state. The easiest method to correct this issue is to reinstall using Archive and Install. I think you should be able to copy the Dock.app application bundle using a utility (like Pacifist) to extract from the Package Installers on the install DVD and replace your hacked version. You will need to extract the Dock.app from System/Installation/Packages/Essentials.pkg on the 10.5 install DVD and replace your dock.app. Let me know if you want to try that and I can try to help. +R
